When should you hire an owner’s representative AKA construction project manager

Ideally you would hire me as an integral member as you are starting the formation of your building team.

However many of the inquiries I get are when the project is underway and not going well. In both situations, the best time to hire an Owner’s Representative/Project Manager is when you first think of it.

If I am your first hire, then I can help you with negotiating the cost structure with your design team and your contractor. I can also help create a comprehensive budget so that you know the predicted complete costs.

If you sense your construction project is not going well, contact me immediately, I can prevent it from getting worse. We can evaluate many factors to determine whether the best path is to replace members of the team or to restructure the relationships and improve communications.

Here is another article that explains when you should hire an Owner’s Rep by Callahan & Company in Montana.
